Resonance Research Consulting LLC

I'm Alexa Romberg, founder of Resonance Research Consulting LLC. I help individuals, teams, and organizations build research programs and research systems. My perspectives are informed by my years as a scientist administrator at the National Institutes of Health and my experience conducting behavioral science within academia and the non-profit sector.
Let’s work together to amplify your research impact and build systems that promote best practices.
Work
I help organizations, research teams, and individual researchers with:
Planning for non-academic dissemination
Research program design
Grantsmanship and communication
Collaboration for multidisciplinary research
Measuring impact beyond publications
Enhancing rigor through open science
We can work together in ways that best suit your needs, whether it's 1:1 advising, in-person or virtual workshops, report generation or other approaches.
I specialize in the basic and applied behavioral sciences, from community intervention research to laboratory experimental design.
About Me
I am excited to advance systems that fully support rigorous science for real-world impact. In working with clients, I apply insights I have gained over two decades of experience across diverse fields, including health equity, substance use prevention, tobacco and cannabis regulatory science, and human cognition and development.
While at the NIH I led and contributed to initiatives focused on translation between epidemiology and prevention intervention research, reducing health disparities related to substance use (including tobacco/nicotine), and supporting health in Native communities. My own research includes work on nicotine vaping, mass media campaign evaluation, and cognitive processes supporting learning and attention. Publications can be found on my Google Scholar page.My formal education includes a B.S. from Yale University, a Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin - Madison, and postdoctoral training at Indiana University.I am also part of Mosaic Research Frameworks, a think-tank focused on the future of publicly-funded science.
